Before I start talking about this blogs subject,  I would like to introduce myself. I'm Kyiz but also known as "Agent Smith" as my steam handle. I've been playing l4d since release and played it in my free time with WoW. Recently I've been getting in the competitive scene and doing a lot of scrims vs. some good, bad, and in between teams. As of now I'm looking for a team but I'm trying out for a couple teams atm and hope that changes soon. You'll find my blogs I'll be posting filled with spelling errors and poor sentence structure, my thoughts about each l4d SI class, the survivor, and my random thoughts about the game and how I play the game and what I look for.

In this blog, as you can tell from the title. I will be talking about how I play the hunter class.

First, I will be talking about the all famous "Damage Pounce" which is calculated by the last jump you make, either it be a jump off a wall or on top a building and how far you travel to the point where you land, and ofc the highest amount you can get in 25.

Here is a great video about how to do all the hunter curving trick. (Yes there are people who still don't know how to do them) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSF94qv5oTI&fmt=22

The way I like to do a DP is just a straight forward jump (Point A to Point B) from high places such as the crane in DA2 onto the ladder climbers, but ofc this usually doesn't work (at least doesn't work well) in matches such as scrims because they will just melee or shoot you out of the air, if this is the case I'll only do it if they are boomered. If I don't want to risk being meleed or shot out of the air, I'll go for a lower DP and make the jump more "fancy" by jumping off a additional wall or platform to get in there quick and easy.

Of course we all wish we could always be out in a open area where we can get DPs, but this isn't the case since a lot of the maps are placed in buildings and cut off areas (ie. Death Toll 4). When hunters are placed in a area where you can't get DPs (at least high ones), I think is the reason why hunters are so strong. If you capitalize on a teams mistake, either it be splitting up or a bad boomer kill, you can put in a lot of damage onto your victim. Not only will you be doing damage to someone, but it will cause a "chaos" moment for their team, with people rushing over making mistakes or even splitting up even more to free them from your grasp, and its up to your team to capitalize on these mistakes for either a death or a lot of chip damage. Of course this works much better if theres a horde or a boomer just blew up on them. When I'm placed in one of these areas, I usually don't even spawn until I see a opportunity and I will spawn up and take the chance. The other way I do this is, I will sit by a boomer (uncrouched and not to close in case if the boomer explodes I won't get knocked back) and wait for the boomer to go in and do his thing, then I will sit go in during the knock back so I won't get meleed and hopefully do substantial amout of damage.

Now you could always go in Rambo style and hope for the best, but playing infected is always about team work. The way I do this (Of course this is different when playing a scrim) is by simple communication ie. "Boomer go, other hunter come in with me". Like stated above I will usually pair up with a boomer for the reasons stated there. Paring up with another hunter is always risky beacuse of bother of you could get meleed or shot down if you go in from the same direction but could also work well if the survivors are split up in 2s. If I go with a smoker always try and be clear as possible when calling out targets and make sure if its possible to not go in from the smokers position because you don't want to have to jump over the smokers grab in case you end up landing on his guy when you were aiming for someone else.

And for a random tip, If you and another hunter are trying to DP the same target for whatever reason. Make sure they are moving around after the first hunters pounce because survivors are "invincible" when getting up.

its not info. I guess people probably wont get what im trying to do here. Instead of just talking about the SI and survivors from the usually PoV, I'm trying to tell if from my view and what I do when I'm playing so I'm not beating on a dead horse.
