I don't know about you, but after watching this video I think they should definitely add in style points to damage done for hunter pounces. On a side note I'm going to be putting together a video series of me soloing campaign segments in versus. By soloing I'm basically going to ditch my team and make it to the safe house successfully. I've already done this on every non finale campaign besides segment 4 of No Mercy, so it should be pretty fun/interesting test of skill (cough melee spam). Stay tuned for my piece on what Left 4 Dead needs to be a viable competitive game later this week after I finish my favorite gaming moments series.

So bad ass... Two questions/thoughts 1) It appears that he is double jumping when he jumps toward a wall then turns the opposite way and gains height. Is this a glitch or is he in fact quick jumping off the other wall?   2) When you hit someone from that height, it really seems like it should do a tremendous amount of damage, if not outright kill them. It would need some fine tuning to not be overpowered, but it would make for such a more interesting dynamic.

1) No, not a gltich/bug/fast jumping, Its just something hunters can do and bounce off walls. (Think of Prince Of Persia, when your between 2 walls, you bounce from one to the other).
2. It doesn't do a "LOT" of dmg but I've done about 28 on my highest, its not a kill but puts them close to yellow.Â

These videos just fail to impress me. Sure, he gets good air time and does tons of damage, but look at the first clip, the other survivors didn't even knock him off, you'd have to be some kind of retard to not notice a hunter flying through the air. Also how does he connect some of those? It looks like he lands like 5 feet away yet he still gets the pounce, that never works for me

Not bad. Some of those were actually executed at opportune moments (pouncing purples ftw). I'll be impressed when he does it while on fire
.Â
@Pwnology.com -> You can wall jump as a hunter by facing away from a wall and clicking as if you were pouncing off of the wall.
Oh and btw I hope your vid isn't just you weapon switch melee exploiting =/

Sure this guy can do some nice "jumps" but in like every other clip, the team is about to get to the safehouse, I guess he must suck at everything else but big hunter jumps.

Yeah I would love to play against this guy with how he spends 10 minutes for 1 pounce. He would probably get melee'd in mid air against decent players every time.

I just had a game on No Mercy, and I realised, pouncing is 90% useless on the later stages. So I was just suicide charging and wildly slashing. Now, on the forth stage, as the lift came up, I waited, the doors opened, I charged in, and managed to get behind them without them realising, slashed my heart away and ended up with 60 damage in 6 hits, 40 damage in 4 hits and 5 damage in 1 hit. Who needs an air jordan pounce when you can just do that?

Unless I catch someone alone or am protecting another pounce/smoke I always slash it's pretty huge damage and has a nice cleave range to it.

I haven't played left for dead but that class seems pretty terrible

don't call it a class please. It's bad enough when the damn WoW players call computer controlled characters "NPCs"

Well that one is more logical than "class". They are non player controlled, so yeah.

slightly more logical, but there is a difference between Non player characters and Computer controlled player characters.

I play with this guy and he is actually a really decent player so dnt just go saying 'bet he sucks at everything else' if you dnt even know the guy. Yes hes awesome at pouncing but i think this is mostly for style, trust me when he wants to take it seriously he can, in all aspects of the game.

I had no idea that hunters could do wall-jumping. Gonna try it this night!

About them adding "style points"..
As well as that, they could definitely add a lot more depth to combat without making it too complicated. Just small things, like "you jump from here" or "you attack at this point" and "you gain x amount of damage on the target" so its modified.
