    Up until recently because I started playing TBC so late (started 6 months after release because of computer problems) I had trouble finding solid / reliable teammates.  I had teams lined up, however with me going MIA all my arrangements fell through because of transfers, and people quitting.  Originally I had played on a 5's team with a bunch of alts from my guild who happened to form a 2345 line-up.  We made it to 2k rating with pretty awful gear, however as season 2 started our paladin had the account he was playing ninjad back by the original owner.  The team eventually broke up, due to not being able to find a substitute paladin, and also all the other players on the team raided so it was hard to find time to play.  After this I pretty much took a break from the game, occasionally hopping teams for the sake of finishing my s2 set but I never really found a solid team.…  More

This semester I'm taking a class called English 202a, which is an ethnographic studies course.  The object and purpose of the course is to essentially do a subculture study.  I had always wanted to write about the many intricacies of wow, but finally I had a platform and reason to do so.  Over the course of the semester there have been many different assignments I've had to do in regards to research and studying the subculture, and I'd like to believe I've picked up an interesting perspective on the whole.  It wasn't an easy task as I had to make the papers readable to a person who has 0 knowledge at all of the game so I had to keep it very reader friendly.  Hopefully the articles can serve as a reference for anyone trying to learn about the wow culture.  I try to be as unbiased as possible looking at all sides of the equation, from social structures to addiction, and even life lessons.…  More
