So you thought MeTaL's hunter pouncing video was a jaw-dropping display of flash and skill?  Well a player by the name soviet decided to one up MeTaL with this video.

I don't know about you, but after watching this video I think they should definitely add in style points to damage done for hunter pounces.  On a side note I'm going to be putting together a video series of me soloing campaign segments in versus.  By soloing I'm basically going to ditch my team and make it to the safe house succe…  More

Yes I know the melee exploit has been rehashed time and time again in videos and discussion, but this video kind of throws a little humor into the situation.

Kenshiro is an anime character who is known for lightning fast melee attacks btw.

Props to Kaizoku for this post on the steam left 4 dead forums.

I decided to create a compendium of my Hunter knowledge, so that it can be discussed, corrected, and improved for hunters everywhere. I'll start off by stating the properties of hunter jumps and wall jumps, these are the building block mechanics hunters have to "jump" off of.

Pounce: Fairly simple, the hunter's best friend. Causing up to 25 damage maximum (ye…  More

So I'm back with some more fun exploits to share with you guys.  If you guys didn't know there are certain objects that are movable by all special infected.  These include things like garbage cans, and other smaller objects.  You basically move them by continuously walking into them pushing them forward slowly.  You will need a lot of time to set this up, but I've always done this by blocking the sewer exit in No Mercy 3 after the team door exploited.

Just when I thought the gatling gun explo…  More

This is going to be a 2 sided article on tank strategy.  It will go over both sides of the tank, playing it and playing against it.

Lets get a couple of general knowledge items out of the way:
When a tank gets lit on fire he is set on a predetermined death timer.  I believe it is 30 seconds on normal.  Feel free to correct me.4 full clips from an auto shotgun is enough to kill a tankTank swipe can only hit 1 survivor at a timeDebris thrown by the tank can be broke up by shooting them mid airSho…  More

So in my first article I briefly stated the goal of the infected is to overwhelm the survivors through constant pressure.  Pretty simple right?  Well most of the time this is easier said than done, because of the strength of melee and strong small group tactics it can be extremely difficult to put pressure on the survivors.  This is becomes increasingly hard when the survivors are moving swiftly with good cohesion, as your chances to orchestrate ambushes are more and more limited.  Hopefully with this article I can get out some general ideas on how to create pressure by using all of the boss infected effectively, and then culminate in an overall strategic mindset.…  More

Over the next few weeks I've decided to put out some Left 4 Dead strategy articles.  These are going to range from general strategic mindsets for survivors and infected to detailed strategies on the different map segments for vs, and finally more specific strategies for individual/group tactics.

For the first article I will start with what I think is the strongest strategic mindset for the survivors: Fast and Furious.

Before I start I will say there is one very strong exception to this rule, and …  More

So in my last article I talked about moving fast being one of the best strategies for survivors.  The biggest problems most people have in adopting this strategy is they do a poor job of bringing up the rear so to speak.  The rear of the convey is the most vulnerable part of your group, you can easily have a couple normal infected slow you down separating you from the group which can lead to you getting pulled by a smoker or pounced by a hunter.  These openings are exactly what the infected need to put immense pressure on the survivors.  Time and time again I've seen someone get a little separation then get pulled away and his teammates get boomered because they are distracting trying to save him and all hell breaks loose.…  More

1. On your server config put in : sv_search_key "uniquename" (obviously don't use uniquename, pick something unique).

2. Open steam, click on games tab. Right click on L4D and goto properties. Then goto launch options. Put this in the end of the launch properties: +sv_search_key "uniquename" -novid (the -novid makes it so the game starts without the intro movies, which is optional).

3. From now on, all you hav…  More
