So lately with all this frag highlight video posting from me as well as in Hellforge (to honor quakelive release today) I decided to compile a top 5 list of some of my favorite gaming videos of all time. These are all frag/kill highlight videos ranging from tf2, quake3, cs, and even WoW. Here are the things that I took into account when picking the videos: Editing: Was there enough editing so the video wasn't some bland highlight video, but subtle enough so it wasn't overdone. Music: Was the music e… More

So just as I promised Surgical from team iNeX/Dx has finished the first installment of the second series of RAWR. He definitely stepped up the editing another notch with the meshing between music, gameplay, and subtle editing (reminds me of the GC videos when the screen shook when he landed earth shocks). This is definitely the type of video you want to download and keep on your hard-drive because not only is the action editing and music great, but there are plenty of cool tricks that can be found… More

Surgical of team iNeX (Dx under their new sponsors name) recently finished his first video series called RAWR volume 1. The series consists of highlights from matches and scrims spread across 4 videos. The editing, gameplay, and music are all top notch. If you want an inside peak at what some of the top teams are doing look no further as Dx/iNeX is largely regarded as one of the most innovative and flashy teams in Left 4 Dead. Unfortunately they went through a little bit of roster trouble ha… More

Well I'm back.. kind of. I'm still a little emotionally hung after losing my father this past week, but I've found that drowning myself in work/hobby's still is one of the most effective defense mechanisms that exist to combat emotional pain. I will be posting but probably not at my usually 1-3 article a day pace. Expect maybe 2-3 a week for a couple weeks. A lot my time spent in L4D is pugging, and unfortunately trying to help your team can often be a frustration and futile effort. Most of m… More

The first significant tournament of Left 4 Dead, the Infected Cup, is behind us. Nom Nom Nom, or more specifically I, got a chance to connect with the winning team's captain. What followed was a thorough eating of his brain. I mean picking... Yes, picking. Nom Nom Nom: What does .mW stand for and who is on your roster? Xànáth.mW: Mollywhop (don't ask) and our current roster is JordanR, MikeG, Socratic, Dollar, and myself. Nom Nom Nom: Have you played as a team in any previous games? Whats your hist… More

I'm going to attempt to fill in for Craptor as best I can, so expect some Infected Cup demos posted here in the near future along with thoughts on the state of the game. For now, if you're bored and can't find a scrim or anything else to keep you entertained in L4D maybe its time to kick things up a notch. Courtesy of l4dmods.com, here is L4D Insane difficulty: " Note: tongue_hit_delay (or possibly, some others that I haven't noticed) resets to 20 every map change, making the change here useless. Have to fly home for personal reasons, I won't be writing for at least a week or two. I'll try to get someone else to help out in my absence, but I can't make any promises. As much as I love writing, I'm going to need some time off after this. More

So in addition to scrimming lately, I watched the demos of the area51 vs Mollywhop final on Blood Harvest. Watching this match cemented some of the changing trends I've noticed emerging in Left 4 Dead. Rushing: All out rushing through levels is getting less popular. There are 2 reasons behind this. CAL forces tank spawns in every levelPeople are starting to realize the value of pickingPicking is a term that comes from other fps, and is short for Picking someone off. A lot of teams will play car… More

Its been a while since I've written anything about new maps and L4D content, but I'm back. On one hand there are plenty of pet projects in the works by eager Hammer jockeys but while media on new content washes up every once in a while I remain mired in a sea of discontent. Nothing could have disappointed me more than Valve's DLC announcement for L4D. Can you sense an epic *****fest brewing? Sorry, not this time. I'm all out of juice, apathy has left me high and dry like so much salt water (I'm really going to sink this metaphor, kek). … More

So of course after predicting Mollwhop to lose the finals, Xanath decides to spite me and win. From what I heard the game was within 30 points going into the finale, and Mollywhop was able to get everyone out alive, where area 51 got denied. Congrats to Mollwhop on a big win, this definitely helped give the scene a clearer picture of what teams are at the top.
